Hello Friends,
Now that the Air Pollution and PSI in Singapore is within moderate / acceptable condition, have you or your friends wondered why N95 mask were recommended?
What Does N95 Mean?
These N95 mask can filter at least 95% of fine particles that are about 0.1 to 0.3 microns. Haze particles are made up of fine particles that are 2.5 micrometers or smaller, therefore these N95 masks are “95%” effective.
The N-series masks means that they are NOT resistant to oil and protects against solid and liquid aerosol particulates that do not contain oil.
The Oil Resistant variants are R95, R99, R100 and Oil Proof ones are P95, P99 etc..
There are also N99 and N100 masks which gives a more efficient filtration! (But there’s a ratings chart that shows that N100 is not exactly 100% effective, it filters at least 99.97% of airborne particles.)
