Traditional Malay Weddings – ‘Spying Custom” – Asking ceremony (Adat Merisik)    Traditional Malay wedding follows the Adat Merisik (“Spying custom” / Asking Ceremony) for arranging marriages.   For the ceremony, the man’s family will engage one or more representatives (wakil) to visit the woman’s family.
